Strange dream I had, truly strange. I was with my father, we were at a abandoned house at the countryside. The yard was full of junk, and there were a few empty cages too. Except for one of them, which had a dog. It had dark, black fur. The fur itself was short. Looked like a mix between a pit bull and another breed of dog. (The big kind, like maybe a German shepherd or something). The dog has been abused for a while, and has been abandoned by it's former people there, in that cage in the yard of a abandoned house. We let the dog out of the cage, and took it along with us, essentially adopting it. We brought it to the car, where I sat with it in the backseat, and my dad in the driver's seat, driving the car. We drove the car to a small supermarket in the area. My mother was shopping there at that moment. Me and my dad got out of the car, leaving the dog inside, and went inside of the store. My dad went down an isle, and i met with my mom on one of the other isles. She told me to look around, since that store had produces other store didn't have, and to get myself some things. It was, as I said, not super big. But it still had interesting things being sold there, even if not a lot. I was looking at a tall shelf with different kinds of sweets, chocolates and candy and such. But I have never seen them in my entire life. Flavors that haven't been sold before (can't give an actual example of what that would be sadly). And i remember i tried to get some that looked the most interesting. Not too many. Since my mom will pay for them, and I didn't want to waste too much money. I would place the chosen sweets in the basket my mom was carrying, before we both headed towards the cash register to pay for them. That is when my dad showed up again. He told use he took the dog for a walk. We didn't think much about it. I felt bored, and didn't want to wait inside anymore, so I walked towards the glass doors and, didn't go outside yet. The doors opened (and remained opened), and I would look outside. The dog was out and walking about, without a leash on. I knew my dad would probably let the dog out, which was annoying, but didn't think much of it. Until the dog attacked a stray dog. A smaller dog, skinnier, with light brown/tan fur. I remember seeing the dog chomp the stray dog, shaking the poor thing before throwing it. Yes, throwing it. The dog threw the stray dog in the air a few cm, before the stray dog fell down at the stairs of the store. The stray dog remained laying down, blood started to form around it and flow down. I knew it was dead. And I also knew that that dog killed another stray dog before this one. I don't know how i knew that, I just did. I started to yell. "That dog killed two dogs! That dog killed two dogs!" A few people gathered in the parking lot of the store, staring at the black dog. A big, older man approached the dog and tried to catch it. The dog instantly bit that man's hands. The man held the dog tight by the neck, then pressed it down onto the concrete ground. One of the other people pulled out a gun (looked like a shotgun? Not sure) and said he will shoot the dog, so it won't hurt others. I didn't wanna look, I didn't want to see. Because I couldn't stand seeing a animal being killed. So I took a few steps back until I couldn't see where the man or the dog stood. I could still see the parking lot, just not that scene. But I still heard everything. The shot. The awful yelp and cry that the dog made. And then silence. Such a weird silence. That is where it ended.
Dreams can often be strange and vivid, featuring uncanny situations that can be puzzling when you wake up. Your dream has several symbolic elements that can be interpreted to reflect your subconscious feelings, thoughts, and experiences.
Abandoned House and Junkyard: The setting of an abandoned house with a yard full of junk suggests feelings of neglect or past issues that are unresolved in your life or perhaps in your family's life. It's symbolic of areas in your life that might feel neglected or forgotten, where you might feel the need to 'tidy up' or nurture.
The Caged Dog: The dog represents a part of yourself or a situation that has been mistreated or is in need of care. The act of letting it out of the cage and adopting it may symbolize your desire to take care of a part of yourself or a situation that has been overlooked. The dog being a mix between a pit bull and a large breed like a German shepherd could represent strength and protection, but also an untamed and possibly aggressive side.
Interaction with Family: Dreams involving parents often symbolize authority, guidance, and nurturing aspects within you. Being with your father and later meeting your mother in the store could indicate your desire for family support or your current relationship dynamics with them.
The Supermarket with Unique Sweets: This scenario might depict exploration and the pursuit of novelty. The unusual sweets that you've never seen could symbolize opportunities or new experiences awaiting you. Your cautiousness in selecting only a few reflects your practicality and consideration for your family’s resources or emotional reserves.
The Dog's Aggression: The dog attacking a smaller stray can symbolize internal conflict or aggression towards an aspect of yourself or your life. It could be emotional turmoil or guilt about a situation in the past that you may feel responsible for.
The Violent Resolution: The man trying to subdue and eventually agreeing to shoot the dog might represent drastic measures to deal with a problem. It indicates a part of you or an external situation that you might feel needs to be eradicated, however painful it might be to do so. The conflict might be between needed rational decisions versus emotional reluctance.
Your Reaction: Your refusal to witness the violence could reflect your sensitivity and aversion to conflict and confrontation. Your instinct to protest the dog's actions yet avoid the violence indicates an internal struggle about facing harsh realities.
Silence: The silence following the chaos might signify acceptance or the calm after dealing with a challenging situation. It might suggest your subconscious is urging you to find peace amidst or after a turmoil.
Overall, your dream seems to reflect themes of nurturing neglected parts of your life, facing or suppressing inner conflicts, and dealing with unresolved issues in a way that balances practicality with emotional sensitivity.
